Finally, magazines are once again available for the Thompson Center Compass rifle! Unlike the rotary style 5-round magazines that originally came with the rifle, our NT-Mags are a vertical feed box magazine design available in 10-round or 5-round capacities depending on caliber. The top of our NT-Mag is shaped to fit the TC Compass magazine well with a built-in ramp to feed rounds into the barrel at the correct angle for reliable chambering. Best of all, these mags are made in the USA!
These mags are available in multiple calibers for TC Compass rifles:
- NT-Mags for the .204 and .223 / 5.56 cartridges have a maximum overall cartridge length of 62 mm or 2.44 inches.
- NT-Mags for the .308-based cartridges (.243, 6.5 creedmoor, 7mm-08, and .308) have a maximum overall cartridge length of 74 mm or 2.91 inches.
- NT-Mags for the .270 and 30-06 cartridges have a maximum overall cartridge length of 86.25 mm or 3.39 inches.
These dimensions are well above the length of standard loadings for these rounds, but we wanted to allow some extra space for longer than normal custom reloads. May not be compatible with aftermarket stocks! Boyd’s wooden stocks in particular are wider than the original stock magwell so they may be very loose.
Far sturdier and more durable than the original mags, our NT-Mags are made from acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA) thermoplastic with embedded glass fibers for added strength and rigidity. These magazine bodies have excellent chemical and oil resistance, UV resistance, and can resist temperatures up to 200 degrees! The follower and locking tab are a high-vis orange color. The body of the mags has a rough texture to aid grip and can be fully disassembled for cleaning or maintenance. In addition to increasing the capacity and durability of the magazines for these rifles our NT-Mags also feature extended release latches to make for easy removal of the magazine with gloves on.
We also offer laser engraving for these magazines! Choose from our ready-made designs or head over to the custom shop to upload your own artwork for us to engrave on your purchased mags!
