Here we’re doing some artwork / template test engravings on a police trade-in Gen 4 Glock 23 pistol slide (grip engravings to be completed later!). While the templates and artwork all lined up just about perfectly, the line distance hatch settings on the actual laser were wrong for the very first passes resulting in some deep lines throughout certain areas. Subsequent passes of the laser lessened these somewhat but they’re still present in the end (visible mostly in the lines / borders of the rear serration area and at the front of the slide on either side). If this had occurred on anything but a test piece, the first passes would have been repeated a few times with a much closer line distance to smooth out the line skips, but we left it on this slide to see how the end result would turn out.
