NT-Mags for Thompson Center Compass Rifles are now available in .270 and 30-06 caliber!

We’re now making NT-Mags for the .270 and 30-06 versions of the Compass rifles! Our initial launch of the NT-Mags was for the .243, 6.5 creedmoor, 7mm-08, and .308 versions of the rifle because that’s what we had available to test with. We had bid on a handful of Gunbroker auctions trying to get ahold of 5.56 and 30-06 caliber Compass rifle for development of mags for other calibers but had struck out so we went ahead and released what we had ready. About two weeks into the launch someone local to us sent a message asking if we were able to make 30-06 mags, and after some discussion offered to be our test subject and loan us his 30-06 factory rotary magazine for development. A few days later we had our first prototype ready to test with the customer’s rifle, and after two minor revisions to adjust the dimensions for better fit and feeding we had a working product ready for release!

The NT-Mags for .270 and 30-06 cartridges have a maximum overall cartridge length of 86.25 mm or 3.39 inches. These dimensions are well above the length of standard loadings for these rounds, but we wanted to allow some extra space for longer than normal custom reloads.

As with the prior caliber version release, these NT-Mags for the .270 and 30-06 cartridge are made from polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG) thermoplastic with embedded carbon fiber for added strength and rigidity. These magazine bodies have excellent chemical and oil resistance and can resist temperatures up to 160 degrees! The exterior is textured to closely match the finish and color on the TC Compass rifle. The follower and locking tab are a high-vis orange color while the dark gray release latch is a carbon fiber composite for strength and durability.
