Upgrading Our NT-Mags (Gen 2!)

In our efforts to provide the best product possible we’re going to be upgrading our NT-Mags to a Gen 2 version! This version will have minor design or sizing adjustments depending on the rifle model (such as making our Venture NT-Mags compatible with the older Dimension rifles caliber conversion inserts) and the mag bodies will also be made from a new material, acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA) with embedded glass fibers. This material is an upgrade to the ABS plastic found in so many of today’s products with mechanical properties similar to the glass-filled Nylon material used in Glock frames. This new material has far better impact resistance / toughness by being slightly more flexible, it also has a higher temperature resistance (106c or 220f before it starts to melt!) and is UV resistant for prolonged outdoor exposure. ASA material is typically found in products meant for outdoor exposure, such as vehicle mounting brackets for Starlink satellite dishes. The color is a slightly lighter shade than the dark black material we’ve used up to this point (photo comparison below) and has a naturally matte finish and rough texture that makes it easier to hold onto with gloves on.

We’re starting the transition to Gen 2 with our 5 and 10-round Compass NT-Mags in .243, 6.5 creedmoor, 7mm-08, and 308 with our other versions being switched over as the machine settings used to produce them are dialed in.
